Responsibilities

Assist with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility support.
Monitor and record patients' vital signs, physical and mental condition, and report any changes or concerns to the healthcare team.
Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by healthcare professionals.
Support patients with meal preparation, feeding, and nutritional needs, adhering to dietary requirements and restrictions.
Create a safe and comfortable environment for patients, ensuring their physical and emotional well-being.
Engage in meaningful conversations and provide companionship to patients, promoting social interaction and mental stimulation.
Assist patients with rehabilitation exercises and mobility aids, facilitating their recovery and mobility.
Collaborate with healthcare professionals and family members to coordinate and implement individualized care plans.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and documentation, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations and protocols.
Provide emotional support to patients and their families, demonstrating empathy, compassion, and respect.

Requirements

Personal Support Worker certification from an accredited institution.
Minimum of 5 years of experience working as a Personal Support Worker in a healthcare setting.
Strong understanding of patient care principles and practices, with knowledge of infection control measures and safety protocols.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and establish trust with patients and their families.
Compassionate and patient-focused approach to caregiving, with the ability to provide emotional support and comfort.
Physical stamina and ability to perform tasks that may involve lifting, bending, and assisting with patient transfers.
Demonstrated reliability, professionalism, and integrity in previous roles.
Valid First Aid and CPR certification.
Clear criminal background check.
